RHODIUM PLATING

All jewelry from the Ukrainian brand Tobi Mozhna is made from 925 sterling silver and coated with rhodium. That's why it has a cool tone and a bright shine.

Rhodium is a precious metal from the platinum group, more expensive than gold and platinum itself. It covers the silver in a thin layer, effectively sealing it. This means the silver won't be affected by external factors, won't oxidize, and therefore won't tarnish for much longer than uncoated silver. Rhodium is also hypoallergenic.

Although rhodium is an incredibly strong metal, remember that the layer on jewelry is a micro-coating that may thin over time. So if a piece has changed color or lost its shine, the coating may have been damaged and should be renewed — this is especially important if you have an allergy to the base metal.

To keep your jewelry shining longer, keep the following in mind:

household chemicals are harmful to jewelry
rough, abrasive surfaces damage the rhodium coating
remove jewelry before applying creams or other skincare products
put on your necklace or bracelet after applying perfume

Also don't forget about mechanical damage and other physical impacts. We recommend removing your jewelry:

Cleaning silver jewelry with rhodium plating is very easy. Each time you remove a piece, it's a good idea to wipe it down — for example, with an eyeglass cleaning cloth. You can also use soft paper. Periodically wash your pieces: add a few drops of dish soap to warm water and leave the jewelry in the solution for 15 minutes. Rinse under running water and dry thoroughly. We recommend storing and transporting jewelry in special boxes or pouches to protect from mechanical damage and loss.

We wish everyone that your womán jewelry brings you joy for a long time!
